Students will work in groups to solve ten word problems about the Titanic. You can make this into a race to see which group solves the problems and builds their puzzle first. They will receive one problem at a time. Each time they finish a problem they must hand it to the teacher. If the problem is correct they will receive a new problem and a puzzle piece. Students must solve math problems involving: order of operations, understanding math vocabulary, basic math facts, roman numerals, and fun number facts. Once they have solved the math they will have learned a fun fact about the Wizard of Oz.
