Experience

I have been a teacher in the UK for over 15 years as well as spending 3 years teaching internationally in Singapore. For the last 8 years, I have been a Head of Mathematics teaching both the UK curriculum and the IB DP and MYP.

Teaching style

I truly believe that anyone can learn and understand anything in mathematics if they are given enough time and patience! I encourage my students to be extremely rigorous in all areas of their mathematics and to seek out efficient and elegant solutions to their mathematical problems. We all know that the key to building fluency and confidence in mathematics is to practice practice practice, and this is always at the forefront of my teaching. As a student of mathematics, it is extremely important to be a resilient problem solver and to be brave enough to take risks when unsure about a solution. I provide the supportive nurturing environment which gives my students the confidence to dive in!

My own education history

I studied Engineering Science at Oxford University and then completed a PGCE and Master's in Education at King's College London.

Additional biographical information

I grew up in London and developed a passion for mathematics at an early age thanks to the incredible teachers I had at school. This experience inspired me to undertake teacher training after university and I have worked as a mathematics teacher ever since! I began my teaching career in London and after a short stint teaching internationally in Singapore, I have returned to settle in London with my young family.
