This 20 question assignment has students simplify expressions. Problems 1-10 has them combine like terms, and problems 21-40 has them combine like terms and use the distributive property as well. This assignment covers word problems about exponential functions with percent increase or decrease. For example, if there are 5000 people in your town, and the population grows by 10% per year, how many people are in your town in 8 years? This worksheet has a QR code, which links to a video that walks students through the "guided notes" portion of the assignment, which they can follow with 8 individual practice problems.

This 25 question assignment has students write an expression, equation, or inequality based on a written description. For example, a problem may state "Four times the sum of three and x is -15." The student would then have to write "4(3 + X) = -15."
