Crazy Eighths! Fraction Board Game (play it just like the board game Sorry)

This game is so much fun, you'll get sucked into playing it yourself. This fraction board game is top-notch at teaching your students to decompose fractions (including the improper ones). This game teaches your students to break down fractions into smaller unit chunks, add and subtract fractions, and even convert unit fractions into equivalent fractions. Students will use this tool to strengthen and solidify their fraction sense. “Crazy Eighths!” is also a great resource tool for rev

Fraction Playing Cards is very simple and elegant tool for teachers to use with their students to check for mastery of ordering and comparing fractions. Because these fraction cards replace a regular playing deck of cards, basically all regular card games are open to be played in math class (with a few minor tweaks). Instructions are included for some classic games like: War, Gin Rummy, Go Fish, and Memory (I grew up calling it Concentration). The different types of games allow you to adju

Fraction Darts is a great way to motivate students to add fractions (and if they are a good shot, multiply fraction times whole number). Your students will be so MOTIVATED to play and compete against their partner, that they will forget about the fact that they are actually doing some mathematics. This game is completely adaptable for whatever your fraction needs are. If you play "Old School Darts," then your students will be adding fractions with unlike denominators and even multiplying fra

The packet includes a 17" x 22" poster, a 8.5" x 11" poster, and a small student journal copy (two per sheet). In addition, the packet includes student practice strips to keep them organized as they practice through all divisibility tricks. This poster is a

Math Around the World is platform for students to practice a variety of different problem types. Each country represents a different type of problem the students must master in order to move onto another country. You (as the teachers) are the customs agent stamping student's passports after they solve each problem. In this newest version Math Around the World 2, I have added new countries (and problems) so that you can use Version 1 and 2 at the same time. How I used it in the classroom: I

Shuffleboard Percents Game

Simple, Easy to play, and Fun! Here is a great two player competition game in which the students flick chips down the game board and make fractions. Each chip represents a numerator or denominator. Students then convert the fractions they make into a decimals and further convert them into percents. Students can knock each opposing player's chips off the board or onto other numbers just like a real shuffleboard game. This game can also be played whole group on the Smartboard. Scoring is kept
