There are many ways to use these images. In my third grade class, I ask students to make a t-chart in their Math Journals. On one side, they write “Notice” and on the other, they write “Wonder”. Students spend five minutes observing the displayed image. They record their observations under the “Notice” column of their journals. Any questions they have are recorded on the “Wonder” side. You can distribute this letter before beginning your unit on money. Each year, I ask parents to donate small items to go in our class store.
