Teaching style

I believe students learn best by doing. In every subject, my goal is to keep students actively engaged—reading, writing, thinking, creating, and problem-solving. I design lessons that prioritize hands-on learning and meaningful practice so students spend most of their time doing the work of learning, not just watching it happen.

Christy McManus is a District Instructional Specialist in the Hickman County School District in Tennessee. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership with an emphasis in Reading from the University of Memphis. With over 25 years of experience in education, Christy has successfully turned around multiple schools by strengthening instructional practices, building teacher capacity, and aligning curriculum to high standards. She holds certifications in Elementary Education (1–8) and Special Education, and is passionate about creating high-quality, practical resources that help teachers engage students and accelerate learning across all subjects.
