A Visual Journal Marking Rubric for a sketchbook or continuous full course project. Some of the categories are similar, as I designed this to be for an experimental sketchbook, pushing students to explore and experiment rather than stick with one or two styles they're good with.
This is a mask making project based around a central theme. It is largely student driven, and is partially designed to model working in an art department in a new media company, in which the teacher acts as the art lead for the project.
Designed to go with the Masks project. Helps students get some inspiration before they begin the project, and also acts as a bit of history for some key cultural masks.
A fun art project I used that is themed around creating Chimeras or warped versions of fantastical creatures. The goal is to make a creature that is as crazy, altered, or far out as possible, and avoid doing basic fantasy creatures like elves, dwarves, or hobbits. Try to push your students to be as experimental as possible! I have separate marking rubrics for ceramics, fine art, and 3D Art, so if you'd like an adapted handout please contact me and I can upload them separately.
A handout written for high school level students with brief descriptions of several ethical philosophies. Useful for classroom discussion and debate. Have added a set of questions based on an ethical problem and the poem "Ethics" by Linda Pastan.
A Scavenger Hunt to familiarize oneself with the kitchen space in a Foods room. I gave 10 minutes to root and rummage around, and then they had a rotation of people who had to go find each item and hold it up or touch it in rounds as I called out the item.
6 Units, Group Sign Up Sheet. Used to create groups for cooking in Home Ec. Foods. 6 Units in my classroom, could be fewer in yours, just leave them blank.
