There are three assignments that have students research and then write about songs that make them happy. You can increase or decrease the length of how many sentences you want the students to write based on the time of your class and the grade level. This is perfect for giving to choir or band students for distance learning or also great for a non-music substitute.

This document has over eighty YouTube videos where students can listen to songs and then compare and contrast them. The first assignment has students listening to a song in a major key and then listening to it in a minor key. The second assignment has students listening to covers of songs by the group Postmodern Jukebox and then comparing their version to the original version. The third through fifth assignment has students going through a list of over thirty-three songs that have been recorded
