Students will first be asked to match a log equation with the description of the transformation in the equation and secondly with the graph of the equation. This activity is a good practice for students just learning how to apply basic transformations to Logarithmic Functions.
Students will need to match one from each category together:
1. equation of a cosine or sine function
2. description of the transformation that occurred to the sine or cosine graph
3. picture of the transformed sine or cosine graph
Students will need to match an equation of a graph first with a description of the transformations of the graph and secondly with a picture of the graph. This is a good tool to have students practice basic transformations on Exponential Functions.
Steps:
1. Sort expressions into two columns of polynomials and non polynomials.
2. Glue the expressions in the correct columns.
3. For the polynomials, students need to identify each: name by number of terms, the leading terms, the degree and lead coefficient of the polynomials
This activity is a good review of what makes an expression a polynomial and give students a chance to practice using polynomial related vocabulary.
This is a great pre CAHSEE review of many topics such as mean, median, mode, correlation, area, perimeter, circumference, slope, parallel lines, graphing lines, identifying and calculating intercepts, finding solutions to systems of equations, pythagorean theorem, probability, and analyzing graphs.
The questions are not super difficult which will make it easier if you have a lot of different groups going on in your classroom. My Algebra students had good success with guidance in most of the sta
This is a pdf of a jeopardy game that will work well printed as a smart board presentation.
The jeopardy games includes CAHSEE review questions on topics such as converting units, solving equations, simple interest, rate problems, exponent rules, discounts and mark ups, and operations on rational numbers. The questions included are not too difficult and worked well with my Algebra class.

Experience
I have been teaching high school math for 3 years. I have taught Algebra Readiness, Algebra, Geometry, Pre Calculus, and Trigonometry.
Teaching style
I prefer student centered learning. The best teaching days are when the students are work together and talking (or arguing!) about a math problem. Whenever possible, I like to make math hands on and interactive.
