A great checklist to use for any story-based writing in the elementary grades. I've used it for Personal Narrative and Story writing in the 4th Grade. Can also be used as a Rubric! That way students know exactly what you are looking for in their writing. Great when used in tandem with an Editing Checklist!
This is a worksheet I have used in my class for years. It's a great way to preview / review vocabulary for this selection from the 4th Grade Reading Street book (or any reading of Letters Home from Yosemite). I have personally used this to preview vocabulary as a class, allowing students to learn the new words, develop understanding by finding examples and non-examples, and of course to draw a picture to activate those visual learners!
