Started teaching in 2015 in Title I schools. That is where my heart is at in terms of student population. Have taught everything from 7th grade math to Algebra II.
Cut up the 5th and 6th page. Have students match up the algebraic expressions and graphs with the description. If you want to quickly check on your own if a student is right or not, the algebraic expressions spell CONGRATS backwards, and the graphs spell SCHOLARZ forwards. Answer key is on the 3rd and 4th slides.
Just another free poster I felt like making. Please leave comments below if there are better ideas for TWO or FOUR. I am a big fan of ONE THREE and FIVE and am willing to change up the other two. Thanks
Answers are here if you want to reference themSpreadsheet CalcsI like this project/problem I made. I usually walk through the first problem with the students as I want to get some of the wording out of the way and an example in front of them. But, the important thing to notice for this project is that every problem relies on the previous problem. Some parts are a little less obvious. But that is also why I give my students a decent bit of time on this. I would rather they struggle for longer tha
Hope you like my free product. Please leave a review if you do. I would print the first two pages 2-1 so that they are all on the same page, and the third page (where you color) on the back of that. So it should be only one page printed out.
A Pythagorean Theorem activity to practice finding the missing value (both hypotenuse and legs). Answers are rounded to one decimal place. If you have an honors/GT class, take a look at my Pythagorean Theorem Project idea/concept activity. I really like it but it will be relatively challenging. Please leave feedback, positive or negative. Hope you enjoy the free activity.
This is a project idea/concept for a Geometry Pythagorean Theorem topic. I did this with my GT/honors class and think that an on-level class would struggle with this without a lot of support. I modified a project I used last year to this current form. When students did this last year, it was a very good way to challenge what they know, especially if you do not immediately help them and guide them. I have attached a short answer key/explanation at the end of the file. And I also only plan on han
Made this activity for my students to practice matching/writing equations from tables, graphs, and verbal descriptions. I wanted to make it a little more hands-on for them, so they had to cut out each 'domino' (along the dotted lines). When they find a match, they then glue the two together. And what ends up happening is the student should be able to create a big loop with all of the equations. I like to keep all my resources free, but please leave a review (good or bad).
Matching the verbal descriptions with the equations. I don't feel like adding in much of a description. Not getting much traffic to my items anyways, but hopefully you like this activity. The answer to the riddle is G_I_B_B_E_R_I_S_H I don't know what the letters are in between the coded letters. But every other letter spells Gibberish, and that is also what the code looks like undeciphered.
Gallery Walk answer sheet exampleI like this activity I made. Students are required to use their knowledge of properties of quadrilaterals and algebra to find missing dimensions of the parallelograms. Then from there, they need to identify if the parallelogram is a rectangle, rhombus, or square. Please let me know if you like or don't like my activity.
I liked these problems I gave my Geometry students. They're a bit more complicated, but I like it. They're challenging. Since nobody reviews me or such, don't feel like spending much time writing a description. Have a nice day. That is all.
Please let me know if you liked the project with a review and comment. I like to make my activities free and open to anyone. Positive feedback, or any feedback is much appreciated. This is a project for Geometric Transformations. My students really liked this project, maybe I'll upload some student artifacts later. The first part of the project, students are required to follow the 'note' and unscramble the house. It will make a nice little house in the first quadrant with a window, a door, and a
Three graphing activities for pretty much any age group. The first one is of a faceless starfish. The second one is a faceless rodent. The third one is a faceless hedgehog. The graph is on a 40x40 board (from -20 to 20 for x and y). Good for practicing or reviewing how to graph points, or also as an easy day activity for your class.
Example Student Response Sheet: Google Drive PDFPlease leave a comment or rating if you enjoyed (or didn’t enjoy) my free product. I would like to make more, but it’s not worth it if nobody sees my work. This assignment only goes over Domain and Range for Linear and Quadratic Functions (no word problems). Answer Key: EDUCATION I would use this as either a gallery walk/scavenger hunt.
This is a quick practice for simplifying radicals. Before this activity, I plan on going over with my students how to simplify radicals (like the first five questions), then with multiplying (next 5 questions), and lastly rationalizing the denominator (last 5 questions). Using this as a quick refresh before going into Pythagorean Theorem. The answer is UNCOPYRIGHTABLE. Enjoy my free activity, and please leave a review if you have a second.
This scavenger hunt goes over the Triangle Longer Side Theorem and Triangle Larger Angle Theorem and has students apply them to solve these multiple choice problems. There is a total of 8 problems. The following is pulled from the first slide of my file: Please leave a comment or rating if you enjoyed (or didn’t enjoy) my free product. I would like to make more, but it’s not worth it if nobody sees my work. These problems/pictures are adapted from the Big Ideas Texas Geometry math textbook. The
I have made a basic answer sheet for this activity, feel free to make a copy of it and alter it how you would like: Google DocPlease leave a comment or rating if you enjoyed (or didn’t enjoy) my free product. I would like to make more, but it’s not worth it if nobody sees my work. This assignment only goes over Translations and Reflections as that will be all I have gone over up to this point. Answer Key: TRAMPOLINE I would use this as either a gallery walk/scavenger hunt or as task cards (have
NOTE: ON MY ANSWER KEY, IT HAS THE WRONG ANSWER FOR QUESTION 1. THE CORRECT ANSWER SHOULD BE [y = -4/5x - 4]. This is a practice activity for finding the equation of a parallel or perpendicular line given a point and another equation. There are 9 questions total. There are two versions inside the same file, one with minimal decoration and the second with a more colorful background. Some notes from the first slide: I would use this as either a gallery walk/scavenger hunt or as task cards (have th
