I've been teaching in Virginia for the last few years. I've taught English and Social Studies to 7th graders of multiple levels including gifted and ELL.
These two short stories by Ronald Dahl have a very similar theme and similar characters that are very engaging for students to read and compare.
I have created six text dependent questions for each text and an additional six questions that directly compare the two stories. I focused on characterization (direct and indirect) and inferencing in the questions. I have also attached an answer key.
