This is a PowerPoint presentation that introduces the short story, "The Smallest Dragonboy" by McCaffery. This includes a quick write, turn and talk activity, conflict mini-lesson, and during reading activity.
This PP references page numbers in the Prentice Hall textbook as that was what my school district had. Feel free to alter those page numbers.
This follows VA SOL standards.

This is the PowerPoint presentation I have used on the first day of school with my middle schoolers. The presentation includes 5 basic classroom rules with memes and room for individual policies.
It includes an a warm-up as well as an ice-breaker activity on the slide and document.
This is a PowerPoint presentation filled with various riddles and brain teasers. I used this as a "warm-up" for my gifted 7th graders, but most are simplistic enough for lower grades.
The answers are in the notes portion of the PowerPoint for the teacher to know.
I did not make the teasers and the websites from which I complied these are on the last slide.
This is a game I used with 7th graders based on the U.S. Geography components of Core Knowledge. It contains 30 questions, mostly regions, states, and capitals. I used this for "Around the World" but could be adapted to play other review games.
These are 12 quotes laid out in a Power Point for use on a bulletin board for "famous first lines". The quotes are chosen from several Young Adult novels including Holes, Harry Potter, the Fault in our Stars, etc.
