This scavenger hunt guides the students through the USHM's online exhibit entitled, "Life in the Shadows: Hidden Children in the Holocaust." This would work well in a Holocaust novel study unit (such as Maus or Anne Frank) or in a Social Studies WW2 unit.

This is a worksheet with five controversial statements (relating to the themes of the novel) for students to read and analyze prior to reading and then return to after reading. There is space for before and after reading answers.

This packet contains four stations to be used in a middle school English classroom to review poetic terms. Each station includes a poem, questions, a sorting activity, and directions. Also included is a student worksheet for them to fill out during the stations and an answer key. Terms used: alliteration, assonance, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, simile, metaphor, symbolism, tone, and personification.

This webquest incorporates three websites: USHMM.org, History.com, and AMBC.gov in order to review key topics of World War II. There is a total of 30 questions and the answer key is included.

This is a short "quiz" style context clues practice. I've created seven questions based off seven sentences from "Landlady" by Dahl and the students would choose which multiple choice response is the meaning of the unknown word.

Based off the 5th book/movie, I've created a "Proclamation" poster in HP style to tell students of classroom rules.

This quiz tests students' knowledge of figurative language, tone, message, and comprehension of language. Students are asked to read two short poems as well as create their own definitions/examples.

This is a culminating project after the 6th grade Core Knowledge unit. It contains three options for projects and each has a rubric. I've made each project worth 20 points, but you could adapt by tweaking rubric.

This is a 20 question web quest using two websites. Questions go over topics such as geography, architecture, philosophers, etc. This could be used as a review or as an introduction to your unit on Ancient Greece. Answer key included.

This document contains the cards for the short review game, "I have, who has?" in which students take turns calling out their cards. This includes all 50 states and capitals. Cards will look like this, "I have Richmond. Who has the capital of Georgia?"

This is a handout that students will document 6 day's worth of exit tickets. I used to have my students keep this in their interactive notebooks and it made life very easy as their tickets weren't lost and could be checked over once a week.

This file contains 32 flashcards to be printed and used as a quiz,quiz, share review. It contains questions based on 7th grade Core Knowledge in the area of U.S. Geography. The questions range from abbreviations, states, and regions.

I keep this sheet in my "make-up work" binder in the front of the classroom. I update this daily and so students can look inside and independently read and catch-up on the missing work.

This text set relates to the Hunger Games so it is highly engaging. The article's author is given credit on the page and the song that is paired together with the popular song, "Hanging Tree." I created the corresponding questions to each song. The skill focus is on inferences but also delves into figurative language, tone, viewpoint, etc. I taught this as a isolated skill reading, but I think it would be great with a novel study.
