I have been teaching 7th and 8th grade math for the past 20 years and loving every minute! In addition, I have taught math based electives, 6th - 8th grade math basic skills and most recently I have been working with my 8th graders teaching Algebra and Math 8.

Absent Student Form

Did I miss anything when I was absent? If you love that question as much as I do, this form is what you need! I print a stack of the Absentee Form and place it into a folder to be kept in the classroom. When there is an absent student, another student will fill this out and attach any papers that were handed out that day. Once the class has ended, the student puts the paper with everything that was missed back in the folder, so when the absent student comes back, they know EXACTLY what they miss

Teaching style

I love to get my students involved in their learning through hands on activities and group work. While I always provide my students with initial skeleton notes for class and videos to provide additional support, having the students work and talk is the most important thing in our classroom. A noisy classroom full of discussion is one where learning is happening.
