This Common Core aligned lesson activity provides a fun way for students to explore, learn, and practice translating algebraic expressions between verbal format and mathematical format. This lesson includes the objective, 6th grade math Common Core standards (California), vocabulary list, pre-game recommended lesson activity with a graphic organizer for notes, teacher directions for the bingo game activity, and a bingo game card handout for students (or partner teams).
Assess students on their ability to recognize and calculate equivalent fractions, and have students practice this skill through the use of a fun bingo game activity. This game/activity could be done at the beginning of the fractions unit to pre-assess, in the middle for formative assessment, or for a fun review activity. For higher level grades, such as Grades 5 and 6, this is a great review activity to prepare for a unit on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. The produc
