I have 16 years experience teaching middle school and high school math. My specialty is Algebra, but I've taught all courses ranging from basic math through Pre-Calculus.
This is a FUN factoring review that I use with my Algebra 1 classes. The worksheet includes 16 factoring problems that increase in difficulty. I've also included two designs/answer keys. This way students can work in pairs. They work the same problems, but will end up with different designs.
Prior to this worksheet we cover factoring by guess & check, grouping, splitting the middle, and the box method. I include "boxes" for harder problems, but I do not require my students to use the boxes
This is a fun way for students to discover integer factors. It also lays a nice foundation for factoring in Algebra. I use this activity as both an introduction to integers as well a preface to factoring simple binomials.
Students are given a product and sum and are asked to find the associated factors.
This is a fun way to learn or review solving two step equations. The packet includes both classroom notes and a soccer maze activity.
Students solve each equation on a seperate sheet. Then use their solutions to navigate the maze (shading as they go). They write their answers (in order) on the blanks at the bottom of the page. Then solve the final math problem.
The activity includes two checkpoints (the first sum and the final sum) to help make grading as simple as possible.
This is the first of 6 review sheets that I use with my Algebra 1 class. The sheets are designed to help my students review for the ECA (end of course assessment).
This worksheet is also included in the Algebra ECA Bundle:

The review sheets cover the following topics:
- Solving Linear Equations and Inequalities
- Graphing and Interpreting Linear and Non-Linear Relations
Here is a fun way to review multi-step equations. This activity works well with both Pre-Algebra and Algebra classes.
The activity is four pages long and includes 18 pairs of equations (or 36 problems).
For each question, students solve equations for "x" and "y." Then the connect their answers on the axis (graph) and discover the hidden design. Most of my students enjoy coloring the design in a checkerboard pattern after they finish.
This is a fantastic review of solving equations. Studen
This is the second of 6 review sheets that I use with my Algebra 1 class. The sheets are designed to help my students review for the ECA (end of course assessment).
This worksheet is also included in the Algebra ECA Bundle:
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Algebra-1-ECA-Review-Pack-6-Week-Review-Based-on-Common-Core-Standards-1071694
The review sheets cover the following topics:
- Solving Linear Equations and Inequalities
- Graphing and Interpreting Linear and Non-Linear Relations
This is a fun way for students to practice operations with integers. It also lays a nice foundation for multiplying binomials. I use this activity as both an introduction to integers as well a preface to binomial multiplication.
Students are given two factors and asked to find their product and sum.
This is a fun way to practice plotting points. Students plot 34 points on and connect the dots to form the IU logo. When they finish, I let them color the logo for extra credit.
Here is a freebie. It is a simple full page sheet of graph paper that I use for student projects.
