While the students are watching the video "Energy Blues" by School House Rock, they complete this worksheet. Students must identify as many renewable and non-renewable energy resources they can identify. If done as a diagnostic, teacher can see how much the students remember from this topic in Grade 5. As done as a formative, students could be asked to then describe the renewable energy resources (specifically wind, solar and hydroelectric).
I used this reflection sheet at the end of our narrative writing unit. I had students read each other's narratives and provide positive feedback and next steps based on our co-created success criteria.
We looked at how the growth of the Banyan tree can be a representation of the development of our own personal leadership traits. We created multi-media art and this is the reflection the students completed when finished. Please see my instagram: mindful.creativity for pictures of the art assignment.
In Kindergarten music we have been listening to a variety of music. We looked at how art can be created to mirror the sounds of music. Afterwards, we created our own art to music. This is the reflection sheet that the students completed when reflecting on their musical artwork.
