In this Google Slide, I model when to regroup using base ten blocks. The base ten blocks are there to show why we are marking our numbers and adding 10 to numbers. There is 1 example of not regrouping and 1 example of regrouping 1 ten for 10 ones. There is a problem for students to practice and an additional slide of 8 practice problems and an exit ticket question that I use with my students to practice this skill.

* I use this as a supplement lesson for Math in Focus. I don't like how they present solid shapes, so I use this lesson to teach them using math vocabulary (faces/vertices) This Powerpoint lesson teaches the basic solid shapes (cube, rectangular prism, cylinder, cone, pyramid). It includes real life examples of each shape, a practice activity, and an exit slip to assess students ability to identify shapes based on their properties.

* I use this as a supplement lesson for Math in Focus. MIF does not address the common core standard 2G.1 to fidelity, so I use supplement lessons to teach it. This Powerpoint lesson teaches the concept of symmetry. It reviews the plane shapes taught in a previous lesson (triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon, and hexagon) It uses these shapes to discuss lines of symmetry.
