I designed this rubric to assess my gifted math students as they chose from a project menu to create a game to practice geometry standards. Teachers can use this rubric to assess a math game designed by their student(s) surrounding any math topic.

Using APEC format, students are asked to answer a reflective question about the Shel Silverstein poem- Where the Sidewalk Ends. I use this poem at the beginning of the year with my gifted students to introduce/practice APEC and to introduce subjective questioning... where no answer is necessarily wrong, unless it is not defended.
