Students will apply addition and subtraction skills to a real-life scenario to balance a checkbook. The sums and differences are up to 5-digits. Students will read descriptions of 12 deposits and withdrawals during the month of September and will have to use that information to find the ending balance of their own bank account that started with $10,000. Afterwards, students will be asked to reflect on the task; a task that adults have to do all the time!
