This is my favourite created resource! This Game Unit teaches students appropriate vocabulary for playing a board game and has a printable board game with pieces for students to play! Some game cards to start are included as well as a blank page to create your own game cards. Just make new game cards for whatever vocabulary you're working on and use this throughout the year!

This French listening activity is used with the song Hakuna Matata - Le Roi Lion/The Lion King. Students listen to the song and fill in the missing words. Replay the song several times. This really helps to develop their "ear' for French.

I use this unit for Grade 4 Core French but it could be used at any age to start a comic unit with it's fill-in vocabulary bank. Also included is the answer page, a page to play Ping Pong, a template to create their main character and describe it, a graphic organizer for organizer their final comic, and some possible assessment check list tools.

This resource includes stills from the video to remind students of important parts. Also included is a student friendly rubric and a detailed lesson plan (I used this lesson for my evaluation hence the detail).

Students staple or glue these self-assessment cards to their work before submitting highlighting how they think they did. "C'est mon meilleur effort!", "Ce n’est pas mal.", or "Je peux faire mieux".
Use this double-sides handout as an exit card for primary students. Students can draw on one side or write on the other about what they learned from today's lesson.
Print double-sided and have students reflect on an area of Strength and an area for Growth after a particular activity, lesson or unit. Included is also a version in French, Point Fort/Amelioration.
I use these 4 posters in the corner of my room. Regularly I ask questions that have the students reflecting on their opinion. They go to the appropriate corner (agree, disagree, strongly agree, strongly disagree) and briefly discuss with the other people their position (in French if possible).
Sometimes I have them match with someone from a different viewpoint to continue the discussion.

I print off a bunch of these when brainstorming what we know when starting a unit.
Divide students into groups and have each group make a mind map for the unit (we just did "Healthy/ La bonne santé") on chart paper focusing on one element looks/feels/sounds like (ressemble à, sens comme, sonne comme).

I’m proud to have won the Susan Langley Earth Steward Teaching Award for inspiring students to take action. I’ve been featured in ETFO’s Voice magazine, especially for Earth Month, and was the lead writer for the K-8 resource Creating Environmentally and Socially Active Communities. I also contributed to the book Teaching from the Thinking Heart. It’s all about empowering young changemakers!
