Plan a Party is a great activity to get your Parenting Class or Child Development class thinking about age-appropriate foods and age-appropriate activities for younger children. Depending on your goals, you can make this activity as specific or general as you wish. Have students actually make the foods and have the party, or just go through the planning aspect and have them make a design board.

Students will be engaged in the chapter information by creating their own grocery bag summary. In addition to decorating and summarizing the outside of the bag, students will also be prompted to include 5 show-and-tell items in the bag to discuss during their presentation of the assigned chapter. A rubric is included with the student instructions.
