Bien Dit 1, Chapter 3, TEST REVIEW

Here are some activities from the Bien Dit textbook, workbook, quizzes, and test. No test items are given directly as they would be given on the test but with a twist (a test audio prompt might be given here as a comprehension activity, etc). Give this as a handout or better yet post it on your website for students to access and fill in digitally (SAUVONS DES ARBRES!). Use in the computer lab on a block day (individually or with a partner) or have students do it as homework. They can then e-

French Adjective Agreement Variations Chart

Teach kids the different ways that adjectives agree in French while giving them a GREAT list to use. Expand their vocabulary while giving them a visual chart to use/study with. Make understanding adjective agreement (and a few variations). Make your kids use colors when changing to feminine to help with the visual differentiation. This REALLY HELPS. I recommend this resource to every French teacher. KEY is included. Can walk through this chart with kids using the key or show the key afterwards

"Muscle Memory" Verb Conjugation Sheet: A FAVORITE TOOL!

SO MANY USES! Use this generic verb conjugation sheet to practice conjugating regular verbs OR irregular verbs. This is a great tool! Photocopy a huge stack front and back and hole punch. These are a great Grab-n-Go for test prep, substitute days, student stations, games, tutoring, etc. You can also use them to make a STUDY GUIDE of a verb tense (ex: Passe Compose AVOIR irregular past participle verb conjugations- wow typing that made me feel super nerd-ifique). The repetition of the sheet an

Here is a great Graphic Organizer for all of the weather, seasons, months, and related activities that are presented in Chapter 5 of Bien Dit level 1. HOW TO USE THIS: - Have students fill in sentences and create matching artwork. - Once they are done you can display these colorful creations on your bulletin board, website, or hallway. - You can also use this for a speaking activity (if you have a doc-cam you can put it under the camera and project it onto the screen for all the students to se

Building Sentences, Sentence Enrichment Practice work up to Richer Speaking

Use this document on your screen. Use this activity to help your students slowly build up their sentences until they are RICHER and MORE DECADENT. This activity is presented to the class and each student gets to use their vocab sheet/textbook to try and translate correctly (the goal here is not translation per say but learning through this activity where to go to get help in expanding their sentences, what to look up, what to study...) Explain to your students that having a simple sentence is O

French Vocabulary Game with cards. Bien Dit 2, Chapter 2

Here is a set of vocabulary squares for Bien Dit Level 2 Chapter 2. Also included are instructions for a game called SLAP. Print a few of these out and laminate them (I print each set out on different colored paper to keep the sets apart-easy to reorganize- and you can put two sets together to make a memory game). Great game instructions for any other chapter as long as you have vocab cards (write me if you would like cards for other chapters). Enjoy!

Bien Dit 2, Chapter 5, VOCABULARY Scavenger Hunt with KEY

Used to always giving students a filled-in vocab sheet? Kick-start the chapter with a Vocabulary Scavenger hunt. They can use previous knowledge and/or the textbook and/or dictionary and/or the internet to find missing words (NO ONLINE TRANSLATOR! But an online DICTIONARY is OK). Location vocabulary has been added to enrich their conversations/language thorughout the chapter (I got tired of "aller au cafe" all the time). Great way to preemptively cut out errors: Have a peer double check their

Teaching style

My teaching style is very interactive. I like to use lots of TECHNOLOGY. I also like to use lots of activities that get my students SPEAKING and HEARING the language. Although you see a lot of items labelled with their Bien Dit level and chapter equivalents many of the activities can be used in non-Bien Dit classrooms with non-Bien Dit curriculum. The labels are just there to help out Bien Dit users find what they are looking for faster.
