NOTE: This is part of the Sentence Errors Bundle. This is a two page worksheet on the three major sentence errors: comma splices, run-on sentences, and fragments. You could use it as classwork, homework, or even a quiz. (And YES, an answer sheet is provided.) The first side has 15 sentences. Students have to identify the type of sentence error --a comma splice or a run-on-- and then correct it. On the second side, students do the same, but it deals just with fragments; also, it has 10 sentences

A fun activity for any level and any age, this can actually be a serious assignment or a casual icebreaker by asking students to create their own flag (like a coat of arms) and present it to others. You can also have them create a new flag to replace an existing one, for either a city, state, or country. It's great for just about any subject.

Each level will gain and take away a different kind of mastery of this content. In this worksheet, ten sentences are given where students must identify subjects, verbs, and objects. Once they

I've used this in college, high school, and I also think it can work in middle school. There are 20 questions. Students must read the sentence and decide if it's okay or one of the errors.
