Hello, I am currently in my 7th year of teaching! I am a Title I teacher in a low-socioeconomic, urban school district. I have had the pleasure over that last few years to teach within this population. Not only are these students inner-city students but I also work with At-Risk students within an alternative high school. I bounce between school being a supportive staff member but have truly been blessed with teaching these young minds. Over the years, I have compiled some useful tips, tricks and lessons that I hope you all will enjoy!

Experience

Hello, I am currently in my 7th year of teaching! I am a Title I teacher in a low-socioeconomic, urban school district. I have had the pleasure over that last few years to teach within this population. Not only are these students inner-city students but I also work with At-Risk students within an alternative high school. I bounce between school being a supportive staff member but have truly been blessed with teaching these young minds. Over the years, I have compiled some useful tips, tricks and lessons that I hope you all will enjoy!

Teaching style

Everyone deserves an education and everyone deserves a second chance. Working with At-Risk students, I've learned that every student deserves our best and 100% of the time! Teachers need to develop lessons/assessment/units that encompass the depths of each standard and engage students in a unique/vast way.

My own education history

I've earned a Bachelor of Science degree within Middle School Education with certifications in the subjects of Science and Social Studies. Along with the degree, I received my Reading Endorsement (K-12). After receiving my undergraduate degree and teaching for 5 years, I pursed a masters degree. I received my masters degree in Athletic Administration. I've been Google certified for over 2 years and continue to enhance my education.

Additional biographical information

Coaching is another passion within my life that I truly enjoy. I have been a sports guy all of my life. Having the opportunity to instill into young men the important aspects of sportsmanship and character is true blessing. Being a role model is something I preach to my boys and myself each and every day. Modeling professional manners and etiquette are still valued important elements within our society. Every students deserves a chance and I hope to give it to them!
