Here's the Math standards for the up and coming Common Core take over. The development of "common core" is still a work in progress so this may be subject to some final changes but the overall conceptual framework shouldn't change. Just wanted to post some information up to make it easier for teachers looking for information on common core. Here's the website http://www.corestandards.org/the-standards Hope this helps!

About the store

Experience

Adjunct Professor at Westwood College, Student Teaching at Bishop Ireton High School, VCU English tutor for foreign exchange students, and Community Assistant at VCU, Squad Leader 3rd ID 4/64 Charlie Company, 1st platoon.

Teaching style

I apply Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence's to my teaching style and try not to teach my students but create an environment in which they can learn. I am familiar with adhering to SOL's and the public school system and try to find ways to incorporate their standards into a fun and engaging directed classroom learning experience.

Additional biographical information

I used to want to be famous when I was little. Stardom was the first thing I can remember thinking of as a status I wanted to attain. I thought... I could be an actor. I probably could have been an actor too... adolescence had other plans for me... Why would I want to pretend to be the hero, or pretend to save the day when I could go out and be that hero who saves the day? Actors are just immortalizing a role; they aren't ever actually living that life. I realized I didn't want fame; I wanted to make a difference. It only took 25 years for me to realize that the most powerful thing you can be a part of is the education of today's future. Now I'm finally in a position where I have the credentials to teach... I'm excited to be here!
