Math squares are used for a fun review challenge. There are 16 squares. Each square has an mathematical expression on each edge. The challenge is to make a big square out of the 16 smaller squares by matching equivalent expressions. Some expressions have several right matches, but there is only one way to form the larger square. This math squares puzzle requires knowledge of properties of quadrilaterals.

You should tell the students that the dots will not form a picture like they are used to. You can tell them that if they do it correctly then a regular hexagon can be found somewhere on the page (it is not necessary to tell them though), but it may not be made with the dots on the paper. The hexagon is for you to help identify wh

Teaching style

I believe in the teaching students to ask good questions. I'm a big advocate for teachers becoming facilitators of learning rather than the keeper of knowledge. Project-based, problem-based and performance-based instruction is something that can be done at all levels. Some lessons don't lend themselves nicely to these methods, but all teachers should strive to get more lessons created this way. I love interdisciplinary items.
