About the store

Experience

I am a retired math teacher having taught 37 years at the high school level in New Jersey. I have also been an adjunct instructor at a Community College teaching mathematics, basic skills, and statistics.

Teaching style

I consider my style as teacher generated question oriented. I presented my students with a problem and together we would walk through the steps necessary to arrive at a solution to the problem. I believe that if the student can explain their step by step reasoning to reach the objective, then learning takes place. I have used the materials that will be presented in TpT with great success. In New Jersey, the student is required to take a High School proficiency test to demonstrate their competency in mathematics. Employing my style in the classroom has permitted 95% or more of my students to pass this test each year. Teachers who have students enrolled in their class state that my former students were well prepared and knowledgeable about the basics they will need to apply in their future classes. My philosophy was "As a teacher I will provide you with the opportunity to become educated. What you, the student, do with it is up to you."

Awards & shining teacher moments

Author of 4 textbooks. Career mathematician.

My own education history

I have a BA degree in Mathematics and Science education, a Masters of Education degree in Administration and Supervision, and aproximately 20 additional credits in Statistics beyond my Masters degree

Additional biographical information

I enjoyed teaching and working with the students enrolled in my classes both at the high school and community college levels. Watching the "light" bulb go off in each students eyes made this profession rewarding.
