These skills practice sheets not only help students determine how text is organized, but also give general comprehension practice as well. This is a Google Form created to accompany the book, "A Wish to Be a Christmas Tree" by Colleen Monroe. It questions students about the lesson that they learn from the story, as well as what details from the story led them to that conclusion. I used this in my own Google Classroom to accompany my theme/moral unit in December. For my lesson, I simply assigned a link to the read aloud and attached this form. It was a fun holiday addition!

This is a quick way to check your students' understanding of figurative language... specifically idioms and hyperboles. Use this as an assessment or a mini lesson! Be sure to remove the answer key slides before you assign it to your students.

This resource relates to NGSS 3-LS4-1. The materials you will need are fossils and magnifying glasses. Not only does this assessment have your students analyze the physical characteristics of the fossil, but it will have them use their findings to determine what life was like for that organism long ago.
