Experience

I've taught for 30 years. I've taught art K-6, have been self contained in 5th and 6th grade, and 8th grade math. Math has been my most taught subject, but I find joy in teaching most subjects. I have enjoyed being an academic coach in science and math.

Teaching style

I like an active classroom with students partnering and supporting one another in work. I find students who discuss with one another new information have a better understanding of the subject. I emphasize with my students that mistakes are they way we learn. If you are always right, you are not learning. I love a hands on activity, it helps makes the experience more real to the students.
