Students have a pile of cards which they flip one at a time. Students find the least common denominator of the two fractions on their card. Engaging, Hands on Holiday Activity:My students love this delicious project. We like to do it right before Thanksgiving. Students are given weight data concerning the materials used to build a candy and cookie turkey. They use this data to estimate the total weight of the turkey. When estimates are concluded and turkeys are built, students weigh the turkey to find the actual weight.
