Equilateral and Isosceles Triangle Tarsia Puzzle

Students can work independently or with a partner to put together this Tarsia puzzle. The best part about this resource is it is NO PREP for the teacher! The printable pages are not in the order of the solution, so students can cut out their own pieces and then put it together. The last page is the solution of what it looks like when it's put together (don't print that for the students)

Arc Length and Sector Area Scavenger Hunt

These problems are finding arc length and sector area in circles. Some of them ask the students to round to the nearest tenth, and some are exact answers. Two of the problems have students calculating the central angle before applying the formula, but most are set up so the student has the central angle and the radius given. Post problems throughout the room. Mix them up first; do NOT post them in the same order as they appear in the file. I have students work in pairs or groups of 3. Each gro

Hands on activity- check! Partner work- check! Challenging- check! NO TEACHER PREP- BIGGEST CHECK! This activity is a great way to practice solving multistep equations, especially to refresh students' skills before solving equations in Geometry. I like these activities because they are challenging, but not intimidating. They could work with a partner, and move their pieces around. If they got stuck, they could move on to something else and use process of elimination to fit their puzzle together

The following sheets can be printed as is but then distributed randomly around the room, the hallway, or outside if you’re lucky to have good weather! Students work in pairs and can start at any letter. They will solve the problem and their answer will lead them to the next problem. When they get back to where they started, they are done! But here is the catch…yes it does spell something, but it doesn’t really make any sense to them. The good thing about this scavenger hunt is that there are so

I use this as a practice activity in either partners or individually. There are 14 on level problems, using similarity to find side lengths, write similarity statements, and scale factors. There are 3 multiple choice problems. Intentional movement has been shown to increase brain function, so encourage your students to come check their problem and exchange it for another problem. Answer key included!

Students can work independently or with a partner to put together this Tarsia puzzle. The best part about this activity is there is no prep for you as a teacher! The printable version is not the solution, so the students can cut the pieces out themselves and put it together. I usually print on colored card stock, but you could also laminate if you’d like to reuse from class to class. Or, (I’ve never done this but I think it would be fun) you could try to print it really big and make a huge

Post problems throughout the room. Mix them up first; do NOT post them in the same order as they appear in the file. I have students work in pairs or groups of 3. Each group starts at a different problem. They should bring notebook paper with them, and "number" the problems with the letter they see in the upper-left corner. (This will help you check quickly.) They answer the question that appears on the paper they're working on. The question is multiple-choice, and the answer they choose tells t

These self checking practice puzzles are perfect for small group or independent practice. Students will use the numbers 0-9, each one time, to fill in each box. You could cut out 10 foam squares and write 0-9 on each so students can see when they have already used a number and see which ones are left. This also allows students to easily fix a mistake without having to erase. Other ideas- Put the worksheet into a page protector/communicator sleeve and use dry erase markers. Project onto the boa

Problems include area of a regular hexagon given the apothem, properties of parallelograms, sector area, area of a trapezoid, composite area, and more!
