This checklist is used after students have written narrative stories. They will go through their stories with the checklist independently first. Then they will have a classmate use the same checklist to read their story. At the end, the peer can leave comments with advice and feedback. This has been helpful in building independence during writing, rather than having a line waiting for me to read their stories!
This peer revising and editing checklist is perfect for transitioning students into independent learnings. It covers the main requirements of an informational paragraph. It includes a checklist for the author to revise and edit first, then a peer. It includes space for written notes and peer feedback, as well as it includes a transition word bank for students to grab transition words from! This document is completely editable, so feel free to change or add for your personal needs. The student d

This paragraph organizer helps students organize their thoughts into green, yellow, and red, much like the "Step Up To Writing" program. I give students these in the beginning of the year for more support, then have them highlight these parts with green, yellow, and pink as the year goes on.
This product works for teachers using the IRLA program from American Reading Company. This download has 3 pages that can be printed for students in the White reading level. The highest leverage/point power goals are highlighted. As students complete power goals in the level, they can color in stars. The stars correlate with the number of points you enter into school pace. Not only does it help you meet with students and track points, but it is motivating for students to fill out their sheets and
This syllable division packet includes practice dividing and marking all 6 syllable types. The first page includes words with just closed syllables - with each following page adding a new syllable type. The order of added syllable types is as follows: - Closed - Open - v-e - -le - r-controlled - vowel teams The guide at the top of each page shows an example of each syllable type along with how to mark them. (Aligns with Wilson Fundations) Most practice words are 2 syllables, however there are a
These worksheets can be used as practice or as assessment in adding fractions with unlike denominators. The fractions use various common base fractions that students will see in the real world. There are 10 different worksheets with similar fractions to allow for lots of practice, give each student a different copy, or to ensure that assessment data is valid! I used these in a 4th and 5th grade classroom and they were very successful!
Have students reflect on their experience in school with a simple and editable form. (Change dates and titles as needed) Students can either write or draw pictures. They love to share this with their parents and add it to their fridge when they get home!
I use these bookmarks by printing and laminating the bookmarks. I then use Visa Vis markers to write student names, circle their current reading level, and write their current power goal for IRLA on! Students open to it every time they are reading, which helps them keep their focus on their power goals and they remember to bring it with them when meeting with me! It has all IRLA levels listed. This facts game is so simple and students only need a pencil and dice. (Or whiteboard markers if you choose to laminate the game) Students can work independently, in groups, or as a whole class to test their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. The object of the game is to get one of the pin numbers as your answer in order to knock it down! The more pins you knock down, the better! My students love this as an early finisher game and love to play against each other. It is e
Within the Fundations Curriculum, students do not "tap" or read CVC words until Unit 2. Many students are ready to read their first CVC words well before this. This list includes CVC words based on the new letters students are learning each week. Use weekly to introduce new words or review previous week's words. This resource includes a CVC word list for all weeks within Level K Unit 1. Nonsense words are not included in this resource, though I may update to include some soon.
This is a useful resource for students to keep with them to help with commas placement when editing their work. It gives two sentence examples for each comma usage as well. This helps students work independently, rather than asking all the time!
Included is a fully editable student led conferences letter and sign up sheet.
Since it is a pain to rewrite conference letters each time they roll around, I use the same letter, but edit the dates and times!
I use the sign up sheet not only to figure times that each parent can meet, but also as my own reference of the conference schedule.
I've found this method particularly successful, but if its not exactly what you want, just remember that it is completely editable to your own conference
I created and printed this plot chart onto 11 by 17 paper for my class this year in order to help them plan their narrative stories before writing. It worked wonders!
Each step on the plot chart has clear instructions for each part of the story. (Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution)
I let my students write notes of their plans all over these and their stories have stayed right on track once they began writing!
This math "Maze" is a leveled system for students to independently practice addition skills. The skills include: 3 digit + 3 digit 6 Digit + 6 Digit 4 digit + 6 digit Adding 3 #'s (All different digits) decimal + Decimal Decimal + Whole number Whole number + Decimal + Decimal Students work their way up levels, which is very motivating! Sometimes I even give a piece of candy when they complete a level. It makes addition practice much more engaging and leaves much of the prep work at the door.

An incredibly easy to learn and extremely fun game for practicing CVC words. Includes all medial vowels. This game promotes fluency with CVC words and my students absolutely love it! These cards are the EXACT size as a playing card and can easily be put into playing card boxes to store neatly. Directions: • Place all cards into a hat, bucket, or bin. • Each player draws out a card and reads the word on it, then keeps the card. (Repeat for each player) • If a “soggy waffles” card is drawn, the
