This checklist is used after students have written narrative stories. They will go through their stories with the checklist independently first. Then they will have a classmate use the same checklist to read their story. At the end, the peer can leave comments with advice and feedback. This has been helpful in building independence during writing, rather than having a line waiting for me to read their stories!
This peer revising and editing checklist is perfect for transitioning students into independent learnings. It covers the main requirements of an informational paragraph. It includes a checklist for the author to revise and edit first, then a peer. It includes space for written notes and peer feedback, as well as it includes a transition word bank for students to grab transition words from! This document is completely editable, so feel free to change or add for your personal needs. The student d

This paragraph organizer helps students organize their thoughts into green, yellow, and red, much like the "Step Up To Writing" program. I give students these in the beginning of the year for more support, then have them highlight these parts with green, yellow, and pink as the year goes on.

Have students reflect on their experience in school with a simple and editable form. (Change dates and titles as needed) Students can either write or draw pictures. They love to share this with their parents and add it to their fridge when they get home!

Included is a fully editable student led conferences letter and sign up sheet.
Since it is a pain to rewrite conference letters each time they roll around, I use the same letter, but edit the dates and times!
I use the sign up sheet not only to figure times that each parent can meet, but also as my own reference of the conference schedule.
I've found this method particularly successful, but if its not exactly what you want, just remember that it is completely editable to your own conference
I created and printed this plot chart onto 11 by 17 paper for my class this year in order to help them plan their narrative stories before writing. It worked wonders!
Each step on the plot chart has clear instructions for each part of the story. (Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution)
I let my students write notes of their plans all over these and their stories have stayed right on track once they began writing!

Having been a support staff member the past few years, I have often been subbing in classrooms when substitute teachers are not available. (Especially in our sub shortage) I have come to find what subs ACTUALLY want included within a sub binder. This template included the main pieces that I wanted to see within the plans. Please edit and use as you feel fit!
These are small printable rewards that can be cut out and given to students who are really showing their role model qualities. They can be edited to fit your needs, but some of the rewards are a piece of candy, drawing time during silent reading, etc.
These work well as positive reinforcements.
Some of the rewards are repeated, but can be changed to suit your needs.
You can quickly edit this end of the day routine to fit your needs. I print the sheets out on 11x17 paper and glue them together as a long checklist. It definitely helps students to see a visual!
I cut these apart and use these rewards as incentives for good behavior. You can use the incentives I have written or create your own to fit your classroom. These slips can be given to students when great behavior is seen and can be redeemed for a one time use!
This sheet is used to meet 1 on 1 with students about their reading goals. I keep one folder per student and grab it before meeting. It has room for their reading level, observations while conferring, their SMART goal for our next meeting, etc. This has significantly helped stay organized and have a visual of all my students independent reading progress.
I use these math fact tracking sheets for students to log their math facts every day when doing timed facts tests. The assignment portion of the log allows you to put which facts they are working on, whether its multiplication, division etc. My favorite part is the space where students can write the facts they missed on the test. This helps them reflect on which facts they need to work on. Over time, students really gain ownership of their facts and start to see trends in their growth!
This reading log fits with the IRLA reading program. It includes a spot for students to record the date, book title, level, minutes read, steps earned, and a parent signature. A note at the top also reminds parents ONLY to sign the log if they heard or saw their student reading!
