In my class, we teach addition with a series of strategies, and then the strategies are reinforced with the use of games. This is one of the games I like to use to help my kids practice the Make 10 addition strategy. "Make 10" is all of the facts that equal to a sum of 11 or more. To find the sum, the students are encouraged to "make 10" and then add on to find the answer.
