I taught preschool for 5 years before graduating to Kindergarten! I found my home teaching this age group!! :) I have taught Kindergarten for 3 years and I spent one year teaching in Second grade. I feel that my years in preschool and my experience in Second have really helped me focus in on crucial skills for Kindergarteners based on where they are coming from and where they need to be in a few years! As of SY 2017/2018, I began teaching Special Education with an emphasis in Reading in lower grades.
I created this product to assess students entering Kindergarten. This is to help teachers understand where each child is at the beginning of the school year, or even to be used prior to entry to Kindergarten for grouping purposes. It covers basic skills such as letter recognition, number recognition, 2-D and 3-D shape recognition, rhyming word completion, and color recognition. I created it with ABC print fonts so the students would easily recognize each letter in the font they learned it in fir
Use this board as Homework practice for sight words. There are 6 activities for home learning. On the first night of the week, the student would write each word 5 times and write each word in a sentence. For the remainder of the week, they pick one of the six activities per night. They cannot do an activity twice! This is great for giving parents ideas to help learn sight words at home!!!!
This is a PowerPoint I use along with my subtraction activities. The first few slides are to review vocabulary and different methods for solving subtraction problems. You will review Linus the Minus, Number Bonds, and reading Number Sentences. There are instructions to use along with a Hula Hoop demonstration of subtraction. There are 20 practice problems and blank frames to create your own. Finally, the last two slides are materials you can print and use to record practice as students are watch
This is a subtraction center that my students absolutely love! First, introduce "Linus the Minus" with the poster provided. Students love that he "steals" or takes away counters! I use this game mat during my whole group instruction prior to students using this game independently! We use subtraction problems from our workbook, flash cards, or problems that I provide on the board to play the game. Simply print, assemble, and laminate for prolonged use!
Use this sheet along with a set of Alphabet flash cards. Have the flash cards turned upside down at the center of the table. Once the student flips one over, he or she can "dot" or color in the letter on the corresponding sheet!! I laminated 5 sheets and used dry erase markers to color in the letters once the student turned it over. They LOVE this activity!!!
Guided Reading targeted learning strategies for reading levels A-Z. Each level has a current reading level place to mark where student's are currently performing. Print, Laminate and go! All strategies and behaviors to notice are taken from research based publications and programs!

This book contains 20 weeks of Sight Word practice for Pre-K to Kindergarten students. It is a combination of Dolch Pre-Primer, Primer, and First Grade words. The words are mixed up each week to ensure students are learning from each list!! There are also a few color words, number words, and high frequency words added in the later weeks. I used each set of words for one week, had the students practice writing the words in this book, then assessed on Fridays using the very same book! This way at

Baseball??? During instructional focus time?! We couldn't..... or could we?! YES!
This FUN and INSTRUCTIONAL game will get your students up out of their seats learning as they play!
The baseball game includes 100 of the most commonly used sight words for grades K-2. (It also goes hand and hand with my "Sight Word Tales Journal!)
This game requires two teams, bases, this set of 100 baseball print outs, and a class of excited students! Instructions are printed on the first page of the downlo
This is a list of 20 weeks worth of sight words for Kindergarten. These words are a variety of the Dolch Pre-Primer, Primer, and First grade lists. There are color words and number words added throughout!! Send this home for parents to get an idea of words and activities to help students learn their sight words!
Use this as a behavior management tool in your classroom. Rather than stopping a lesson to redirect a student, simply walk over to the student's desk and place one of these "Stop" signs on their desk. After you are finished teaching, the student has to bring the stop sign back to you and tell you what they were doing wrong to have gotten the stop sign on their desk!
Use this in your classroom to let substitutes or other volunteers know about any allergies in the room!! Put a picture of the student in the box to ensure no mistakes!!
CSUSA requires a mega binder to be kept each school year with important information such as contact information, IEPs, Benchmark Data, Gradebooks, Attendance, etc. This file contains all of the required document dividers to help keep you organized!
This journal is used in conjunction with Scholastic's Sight Word Tales K-2 set! The set includes mini books, reproductibles, and assessments... but it doesn't have a journal (YET!) The journal covers all 100 of the most common sight words for students K-2.
I created this sight word journal to keep track of students' writing, as well as to reiterate the use of sight words in reading and writing. The journal requires students to THINK about the sight words and how they can be used in a sentence..
Use this along with number flash cards as a center. Lay out numbers 1-30 upside down. Laminate or use dot paint to have students mark when they turn over a number. Example, if a student turns over a "5", they need to search for "5" on their paper and dot it with the paint dotter (or if you laminate this they can color in the number 5 with a dry erase)! They continue until they have found all 30 numbers!!
This is a great tool for supervisors to use during a walk through in classrooms. It covers classroom management, teacher preparations, and classroom environment.
This planning tool is used for weekly lessons. It has a spot for day of the week, type of instruction (Introduction, Direct Teaching, Independent Practice, Guided Practice, and Closure), and a space for description of lesson. This is a great "snap shot" lesson to have out to keep on pace!
Use these to take differentiation beyond the classroom to the hallways!! These cards have a few different leveled tasks on them. Laminate the cards and attach them to a lanyard. Have students who complete a new task, like learn sight words, or need help being motivated to learn new things, like how to tie their shoes, and use these cards as incentives. Students wear the cards around their neck for the day. Other teachers, staff members, or parents can stop a student wearing one and ask them what
I created this document to keep up with sight word tracking in my small group work during my Daily 5 literacy centers. The first day is an introduction of new words and a record of how I taught them. The second day is saved for assessment of sight words for that week. This just helps me stay organized and have a copy of what I was teaching and how the students learned.
