After creating a survey they will collect data from classmates. When they have collected data in a tally chart, they will make a bar graph. There are also pages in which students need to write questions that can be answered using their bar graph and then space for students to solve the questions for an answer sheet. Let your students practice their spelling words with the classic game of battleship. Students place their spelling words anywhere they choose on their game board, hiding their "ships" from their partner. Then, students take turns calling off spaces to sink each of the ships, for example, D-12. When all letters are hit in the word, the “ship” is sunk. Teaching 4th grade, I have always had students that do not know all of their multiplication facts. At the beginning of the year we practice filling in multiplication tables using the facts they already know (x1, x2, x3, x5, x10, etc.). Then, we find patterns within the table and talk about how you could figure out the trickier facts. We continue practicing multiplication facts throughout the year to give them strategies to make it easier when doing multi-digit multiplication and division.  With
