Positive and Negative Integers: Mix & Match
This purpose of this activity is to provide students with addition and subtraction practice with positive and negative integers. Students are given 24 cards with 12 positive integers and 12 negative integers. Working together or alone, they have to figure out which pairs of numbers add up to, or subtract to a given quantity. Further lesson ideas are included in the document.

Teaching style
My textbook is a resource. I believe it is a guide and the teacher must make instructional decisions about how material is to be presented and what assignments are appropriate for content mastery. Although my textbook often has enough "good" problems for students to practice, I often find myself making my own worksheets, note guides, tests, and quizzes. As much as possible, I try to incorporate the use of Power Point, interactive Whiteboard, student whiteboards, games, and interactive activities in instruction. This is a work in progress, however, because of time constraints due to district pacing guides and state testing.
