Exponential Logarithmic Equations Review Game

This Jeopardy-esque game has all students working to solve problems related to solving exponential equations, solving logarithmic equations, inverses, and compositions of functions. I used this in my (HN) Math III class (class before HN Pre-Calculus). I included the section on inverses and composition of functions (and composition of inverses) so that my students would learn the next day why we "take the log of both sides," or why when we exponentiate we are just left with what was in the expo

Students will be perplexed and engaged as they figure out how big COULD they blow a bubble in one breath? Lots of student involvement. Low-floor, high-ceiling. Lots of fun! Goals: By the end of this lesson, students will have practiced using the formulas for the volume of a sphere and volume of a cylinder, and they will have practiced solving literal equations. This includes solving equations with fractions and cubes. They will also have a better understanding of the meaning of volume, by mean

About the store

Experience

This is my 4th year teaching at a public high school in North Carolina. I have taught Introduction to High School Math (pre Math 1), Algebra 1-A, Algebra 1-B, Foundations of Advanced Algebra (pre Algebra 2), CC Math 1-A, CC Math 1-B, Honors CC Math III.

Teaching style

I lecture minimally and like to get the students to discover patterns and formulas on their own. I also like to play and develop games that boost mathematical understanding.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Recipient of the NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship.

My own education history

I graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University (an excellent STEM school).

Additional biographical information

I mostly teach Math 1 and (HN) Math III. I also love games!
