About the store
I teach in a 4th grade High Ability classroom in the state of Indiana. I have a cluster of students that are high ability in ELA, math, or both areas. I teach advanced learning strategies that work with all students in all classrooms, but will push and motivate advanced or gifted learners. My motto for the classroom is if you believe that the kids can achieve and you let them know you believe in them, then they will believe it too. They will give you their top effort!!

About the store

Experience

I teach in a 4th grade High Ability classroom in the state of Indiana. I have a cluster of students that are high ability in ELA, math, or both areas. My motto for the classroom is if you believe that the kids can achieve and you let them know you believe in them, then they will believe it too. They will give you their top effort!!

Teaching style

I believe in student guided learning where the kids are motivated by their voice and choice. Open ended choice learning that connects to the curriculum and standards, but puts student thinking and choice in the forefront is the way I run my classroom. Students will learn when inspired, driven, and given high expectations!

My own education history

I have a bachelors and masters degree in elementary education from Ball State University. My masters was with a focus on literacy instruction and I also have literacy coaching training from OSU. I was a literacy coach to teachers for two years and have served many years on committees writing curriculum and school improvement leadership.

Additional biographical information

I am a wife and mom of three grown children. I have taught 19 years. I am a lover of books!! In my off time I love spending time with family, reading, relaxing, traveling, and doing art.
