About the store
This is my 22nd year of teaching at the same elementary I actually attended as a child! I met my very best friend of over 30 years there as well and can't imagine teaching anywhere else. I have taught various grades with kindergarten and 6th being my favorites. Gifted kids are a close third as they always challenged me to be a better teacher. I have always loved kids and have known from my earliest memories that I wanted to be a teacher!

Always free for the first 20 downloads! Yea!!! I have made so many assessments but this is the one! This is the one that gives the feedback I need for report cards, common core data, and is used as evidence of learning! It can be sent home accompanying report cards or kept on file to support why you gave the grades you did. This is a quick assessment and some can even be done whole group to save one on one testing time! I love it and think you will too! Areas assessed: *Uppercase letter

This freebie is sure to be a hit with your principal! I use these on a daily basis in my classroom and feel it has assisted my lesson planning and organization. I am in a District where posting learning targets and objectives are a must! These make it less daunting and are a great visual for even the youngest of learners. I included many variations of pretty much the same template so print wisely. I laminate my three favorites and use a whiteboard marker in order for them to be reused. L

100 Follower Freebie! This little side business just keeps getting better and I absolutely love making products for fellow teachers! If you don't already have a guided reading planning template, this might be the one for you. I have tried, tried, and tried again. I incorporated both days on one form which I am absolutely loving! Also included is a simplistic anecdotal recording form. Do you confer with students? Not sure what to ask or assess? This might help! A great tool for record

These have been a hit in my classroom! I introduce a sight word of the week on Mondays and keep parents in the loop by sending these mini letters home on the same day. I allow students 5 minutes to color them prior to going to lunch. (Which reinforces our word of the week recognition.) There is no confusion of what is needing to be practiced for the week. I love them and parents do too! There are 100 words included. ***Fry's First 100***

There is a big push in our district to confer and run guided reading groups on a daily basis. Although there are tons of forms online, these two forms work best for me! I incorporated them last year and find them to be very helpful. They are simple, easy to understand and a great way to collect data on your students. Please enjoy this freebie! They are helpful to me and hope they will be helpful to you as well. -Mrs. Mabalay :)

Hello fellow HSD kinder teachers - I thought I would share documents that may or may not be useful. If anything, the assessment may serve you well. We are a larger school site which is why the assessment is "quick". Assessing 60+ kinders is pretty time consuming. The shortened assessment will still give needed information and assist with building classrooms. Anyhow, happy Jump Start! Alecia Borders/Graphics by Lindy Du Plessis

Experience

This is my 22nd year of teaching at the same elementary I actually attended as a child! I met my very best friend of over 30 years there as well and can't imagine teaching anywhere else. I have taught various grades with kindergarten and 6th being my favorites. Gifted kids are a close third as they always challenged me to be a better teacher. Teaching style

Kids are capable of more than we know! I hold high expectations and feel kids learn by doing. I make learning meaningful through the passion and dedication I devote to my students. Love and logic has always been the kind of style used in my classroom. I believe in choice with structure and routine!

My own education history

Although I never enjoyed the academic side of school growing up, sports led me to college where I played basketball and soccer. I now hold a Master's degree and hope to further my education when I have a little more time on my hands! ;-)
