These have been a hit in my classroom! I introduce a sight word of the week on Mondays and keep parents in the loop by sending these mini letters home on the same day. I allow students 5 minutes to color them prior to going to lunch. (Which reinforces our word of the week recognition.) There is no confusion of what is needing to be practiced for the week. There is a big push in our district to confer and run guided reading groups on a daily basis. Although there are tons of forms online, these two forms work best for me! I incorporated them last year and find them to be very helpful. They are simple, easy to understand and a great way to collect data on your students. Please enjoy this freebie! Hello fellow HSD kinder teachers - I thought I would share documents that may or may not be useful. If anything, the assessment may serve you well. We are a larger school site which is why the assessment is "quick". Assessing 60+ kinders is pretty time consuming.
