What is Art? Powerpoint & Activity

I teach Theatre Arts, which has a LOT to do with Art and how different people see things depending on where they are from. This is a GoogleSlides Powerpoint. It is 39 slides long and talks about the functions of art and has an activity that I call "Art walk" where I show the kids different pieces of Art and they write a feeling they feel for each piece. We then have a conversation about how we are all from different walks of life and it is more than okay to see things differently.

About the store

Experience

I have taught in two different Houston-area school districts and I have taught middle school and high school theatre. I am currently in my Master's program as a Counseling Candidate! My goal is to be a school counselor after this school year!

Teaching style

Honestly, I put building relationships with the kids at the forefront of my classroom always. I primarily teach theatre arts so it is not STAAR tested and I do not have to worry about checking each and every box as core teachers do. However, I do have a Year at a Glance that I get through every year. I value relationships and getting to know the kids more than I do anything else. All that being said, I decided that I love teaching but being a counselor would allow me to aid students not only in the school, but deeper into their lives as well.
