This plan reviews behaviorism, constructivism, and social learning theory as it relates to educational psychology. Students will reflect on the importance of diversity in education, define equality and equity, explain the differences between the concepts, and apply their knowledge to real-world issues and educational settings. Day 1 starts with an activity that has them walking around the room and working with partners (Diversity Lens Activity), and ends with guided notes from the “Diversity presentation”. The lesson starts with a PowerPoint, and I provide guided notes. It ends with a cumulative assessment that has them analyze their own development. They create a hands-on booklet, and I explain step by step how to create the booklet. There are student directions, a student checklist, and a rubric to follow the project.
