This is an easy to prep and even easier to differentiate math activity for students of all ages, grades, and skill levels. I use it several times a month during my math stations time with my 1st and 2nd grade students, where they practice building addition and subtraction fact families. This simple math relay race is designed for use on the first few days of school, but could easily be used at any time of the school year. It focuses on basic math skills (multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division plus basic order of operations) so that teamwork is the focus. I intend to use this as our first group-based active learning experience of the year. Keeping the problems simple should allow time to observe how students interact with each other and engage students
A quick and simple quiz to use to assess the knowledge your students have of adding decimals. Includes 5 simple addition problems and 1 "bonus" subtraction problem. Each problem is in it's own box and each box has a scoring checklist (neatness, place value, shows work, correct answer) to allow easy and specific feedback and to help you see what your students are still struggling with and what they've mastered. Answer key included.

A student I taught in 2012 who really struggled with math got an A on a recent test in 7th grade. She immediately stated that she could not wait to come see me and tell me because I "would be so proud". This was before she asked her current teacher to call her mom and brag on her A.
