Students will critically analyze a cell phone text messaging plan from a fictitious company to determine various costs of using UR Phone BFF as a wireless carrier. Students read an ad, write an expression, create a table, populate a coordinate graph, and answer 10 comprehension questions to demonstrate proficiency in many 6th grade algebra standards.

This back to school math scavenger hunt is perfect for those first days of school or open house night when you want students/parents to engage in math without being overwhelmed. Includes answer "clip board" sheet, answers, and 9 questions to be placed around your classroom/school for students and/or families to find!

Daily agenda slides have made a huge improvement in my classroom! This resource will allow you to make sure all important information for students is front and center and in a consistent location all year long. I usually post my slide at the beginning of each class, so students can see what they need to get out and what we will be doing every day of the year. I also post a copy of each day's slide to Google Classroom, which allows students to look back on important information and allows student
This student test tracking graph is a great way to increase student accountability on unit tests. Simply have students write the test name at the bottom and shade/color the bar to show their score. If a student retakes a test, they can use another color to shade/color the improved score over top of the original score.

These Google Slides presentations will allow your students to practice how to solve equations in a step-by-step process so that they can pinpoint exactly where they may be making mistakes. This bundle includes all 3 of my step-by-steps for equations - 1-step with addition and subtraction, 1-step with multiplication and division, and 2-step equations.
I used this project for 3 years as an end-of-unit assessment on working with fractions when I taught 6th grade mathematics. The project has 2 parts: the poster and an essay. I included a list of student prompts for creating their written response that include explaining more about their topic and their design choices. Before setting students out on this project, we discussed what made a “good poster” (not too much information, large and neat enough to be read from a short distance, etc), so I
Very low to no prep required! Just print and go! Optionally, you could copy back to back with another assignment for early finishers and/or additional skill work.
This 207 page download includes 199 quick write prompts and one blank master quick write for writing in your own prompts.
I began using quick writes with my fourth grade students last year during the second semester and saw a great increase in my students’ writing. After seeing how helpful there were, I decided to create a year’s
This document includes an unpacking of ALL 4th grade mathematics standards in the Common Core State Standards. Several examples are included to help clarify the standards and give a deeper understanding.
Like this? Then make sure to come back to see my unpacked 4th grade ELA standards in the CCSS! Additionally, I plan to complete daily learning targets and formative assessments for all standards - both mathematics and ELA before I head back to school late August. https://www.teacherspayte

Students will love playing Rolling Percentages! This game uses dice, a 100's grid, and colored pencils, download includes printable dice templates and a 100's grid, directions, and ideas for differentiation.
Students roll the dice, add the values, and shade that percentage on the grid. The player with the most shaded squares wins the game! My students love this game and ask to play regularly.

Awards & shining teacher moments
A student I taught in 2012 who really struggled with math got an A on a recent test in 7th grade. She immediately stated that she could not wait to come see me and tell me because I "would be so proud". This was before she asked her current teacher to call her mom and brag on her A.
