This is homework or a family engagement activity. Students take home a pattern and a note explaining what to do. I have had kids use cereal, glitter, stickers, noodles etc to decorate. Notes are in Spanish and English. I hang in class as students bring them. These help make a home to school connection and bring in parent involvement. Involves patterns for September-June plus one more!

NBT Assessment recording sheet for teachers to use for COunting and Reading numbers. On a separate piece of paper, I have the number present for students to read and I make marks on the recording sheet. For counting, students are told that I will say a number and they will count on. FIrst-grade standard is counting up to 120.
