This is a fun beginning of the year or end of the year project combining art and math. Students create a poster that has a 2x2 grid in the background. The foreground is their name and symbols that represent who they are. Every year I do this I am surprised at how many of my students have not had practice using a ruler to make a simple 2x2 grid (the part I "grade").

This powerpoint will lead you through a discovery activity for finding Surface Area. It is designed as an IDEA Hearvest- where students work in groups and then switch groups to share their findings and come back to the original group to do the work.

Play jeopardy while practicing Equations!

This unit explores the relationship between number lines and timelines. Students are asked to create a personal timeline and then turn it into a proper number line.

Abstract: You and a team of classmates will be creating your own RSA video in order to teach the rest of the class (and maybe even those outside of it) about writing and solving linear equations.

This slideshow will quiz students on Equivalent Fractions. It is set up to run for 3 minutes. My students love competing to see who can get the most correct answers.
