Students work in pairs with a whiteboard and marker. One student selected a card. They look at the pattern rule on the back and create their own pattern following that rule. They write their pattern on the whiteboard. Their partner needs to figure out what the pattern rule is.

Students write three facts about them. Two of the facts must be true but one is a lie. Teacher or student reads the three facts aloud and other students guess which one is the lie.
Students can fill out the blank Bingo card with numbers 1-30. The teacher calls out/writes on the board various number patterns each with one missing number (ranging from 1-30). If students have that number, they cover that space. First one to get a line, wins!
Provide students with a word (3 of 4 letter words are ideal, depending on grade). Students change one letter at a time to create new words (e.g. pig - big - dig - wig - win) and see how long of a ladder they can create. Great for word work in Daily 5.
Write the first three terms of a number patterns on paint chips, etc. and students continue the pattern on this worksheet. Page 2 and 3 can be used as a template for your own number pattern activities.
